Spoiled 15-YO Says She Feels Like A "Peasant" After Her Mother Cuts Down Allowance From $5,000 to $1,000

Children are often given a sum of pocket money for helping out with household chores or errands of some kind. Many parents do this for

While some of them spend it on their favorite candy, others keep saving it to buy a newly released game or gadget. However, one teenager who was used to steady pocket money was deeply sad and angry after her mother decided to cut down her monthly allowance.

According to Independent News, 15-year-old Nicolette said she feels like a “peasant” after her mum reduced her monthly allowance to $1,000 from $5,000. The Beverly Hill resident who describes herself as a spoiled brat appeared on the Dr. Phil show to convince her mother, Nina, to increase her allowance. “I feel like a peasant [after having her allowance slashed]. I can’t live like this anymore. I’m always out of money. If you ask me, I feel like my mum should be giving me $2,500 a month just to cover my basic expenses. I need money to buy clothes, I need money to buy shoes – my mum just doesn’t get it,” said the teenager on the show quoted Mirror Online.

The young girl who appeared on the show with her mother told Dr. Phil that she was raised with everything from a driver to personal trainers and wanted to maintain her luxury lifestyle. “My mum raised me with everything I’ve ever wanted, and she needs to continue. It’s the only life I’ve ever known,” told Nicolette. While the teenager continued her complains and explained her love for an extravagant life, her mother Nina was unwilling to accept her demands.

Nina who is a single working mother told the talk show host that she spoiled her daughter with money as she felt guilty of not being able to spend more time with her. She allowed her daughter to use credit cards with no limits at a very young age and soon realized she was going out of control.

When Nina noticed that the young girl went on a spending spree sometimes blowing up to $10,000 a month, she decided to implement some rules. “She’ll blow through £1,000 a week and tell me that she needs more money,” told the single mother to the host quoted Mirror Online. Though the young teenager threatened to make her mother’s life hell, Nina was not ready to give in. “When my mum doesn’t give me more money, I make her life a living hell,” said the girl.

“I think I made her that way,” said the mother emotionally. She even admitted to the host that she had no idea how to get her “extravagant, spoiled, and bratty” daughter under control. Meanwhile, the young girl said, “You raised me, you should have done better.”

The Talk show host, on the other hand, said that the girl did not need an increase and even advised her mother to give her less money and more love. “Overindulgence is a form of child abuse” warned the host.

He added that the young girl should get a job. However, Nicolette was not happy with any of it. She was adamant and said it was impossible for her to live with that allowance and was not in favor of finding a job.
