People say, if you are lucky you will meet the love of your life and everything will fall into place. You will both love each other, care for one another, inspire each other to learn, grow, and be better people. And finally, you two will decide to spend your lives together in love, peace, harmony, and eternal happiness.

It will be a love like you’ve never experienced before…

Yes, this type of fairy tale is wonderful, but, here’s what no one tells you: There are times when one meets the love of their life, but they don’t get to be with them and keep them into their life. They don’t get to marry them and build a future with them.

People don’t always end up with the loves of their lives because sometimes, love does not conquer all.

Love doesn’t magically resolve all conflicts and irreversible differences. Love doesn’t heal illnesses. It doesn’t bring back to life a loved one who passed away.

Sometimes, we won’t end up with the loves of our lives and that’s okay. Because sometimes, love is not enough. Sometimes you want to have a successful and bustling career in the city, and they want a cozy home with two children in the country. Sometimes, they want to explore the world and go on adventures, and you want to settle down and start a family. Sometimes your dreams won’t match and that’s okay.

Sometimes, the right and most loving thing to do is to let go.

However, letting each other go doesn’t mean their love was not real. Not ending with someone doesn’t disqualify the significance they had in your life and vice versa.

The truth is, you will meet people who will love you more in a month than others could love you in twenty years. There are people with whom you can grow and expand more in a day than you can with others over your entire relationship. Because some people are only destined to be in your life for a period, but their influence on your life will stay with you forever.

Yes, we can call these people the loves of our lives because they are just that.

We don’t have a right to reduce the significance they had in our lives nor we have a right to delete all the memories and happiness they have brought to us. They changed our lives for the better and we should be thankful for it.

We should be grateful for getting a chance to meet them because there are people out there who never get to meet the love of their life.

You got to meet them and love them. You are blessed for it.
