No matter how hard life gets, always be grateful for what you have and who you are.
You see, we are all different. God has made us unique human beings and He loves us all. He wants us to be the best we can be. He wants us to be happy. However, we oftentimes tend to forget all the beautiful things we have by focusing on the things we lack.
We forget to be grateful that we are here, and we are alive. And this is a big thing. Because we matter.
We forget to be grateful for the hurts, the wounds, and the scars that we got as gifts for dealing with toxic monsters. We only focus on the pain we’ve experienced instead of focusing on the fact that we did it – we survived! And that’s all that matters.
We forget to be grateful for the people in our lives. Our family who supported and loved us since our birth. Our friends who were always there for us and with whom we shared many amazing moments and experiences. Our partners who love us and respect us dearly. The ones who broke our hearts, but it made us stronger and more resilient.
We forget to be grateful for all the good and nice things we already have, like having our small space we call it home, waking up to see the sun shining every day, enjoying a hot cup of coffee every morning… these are all things that do matter because they make us happy on a daily basis.
We forget to be grateful for our mistakes because if it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t be the people we are today. Our failures and mistakes are what keep us going and are making us stronger and wiser.
In this pessimistic world, full of regrets, we should learn how to be grateful for all the missed opportunities, and all the loses. Because life is not always perfect. We will have ups and downs. That’s how we learn to appreciate the good times, by experiencing the bad.
But, the most important thing we should learn is that true happiness never lies in earthly and material possession. True and lasting happiness can only be found within us.
